Hi there! Thanks for checking out my website.

My name is Tiffany Michelle Wan and I'm a young industrial designer. I'm passionate and enthusiastic with an open-mind, striving to make an impact and improve the everyday experience. When I'm not on the computer, designing, or making things- I'm going to design events and exhibits, involved with IDSAboston, meeting new people, playing ice-hockey, people watching, enjoying delicious foods (my all-time favorite restaurant in Boston is Clio), taking photographs, and constantly questioning.

My passion for improving our daily interactions and noticing the subtlties of our habits leads me to create products that embrace these nuances when solving problems and addressing the needs of users. My education has taught me to take a holistic approach to design using ethnographic research to create products that revolve around user experience and emotional connections, while also considering human factors (ergonomics) and aesthetics. Design makes a meaningful impact.

Travel is a huge part of who I am and my search for inspiration. I find that I can easily adapt to different environments and cultures with an open-mind and curiosity. Rather than thinking something is 'weird,' like when I visited Morocco and saw how the locals and natives eat with their hands, I wanted to try it out right away. I quickly realized that I'm not nearly as efficient as they are. I've learned to trust people by traveling on my own in Europe (Prague in the Czech Republic has been my favorite city, so far). I live for wandering and exploring cities without any concrete plan. I've always been an inquisitive person and used to annoy my older cousins with an overwhelming number of questions when we spent time together. I realize I may be observational to a fault, trying to understand the entirety of a story before speaking up, but if I have a strong opinion about a topic, I won't hesitate to express myself.

Now, drop me a line and let me know what you think! Or see what I'm up to here.

UPDATE: 2/2010 I am currently residing in Beijing, China.

My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. (yes, I made that omelet!)
I've been playing hockey for ~12 years.
I once tried to eat only celery for a week; this was unsuccessful. I did become a vegan for 2 months though!
